In Math, to multiply means to repeat the addition of a number or number groups; Multiplication & Division is primarily the source of this understanding. Multiplication, is one of the primary arithmetic operations in calculus; dealing with operations on functions & their derivatives. Division, is often shown in algebra & science; involving operations on numbers & variables. Factors that can be easily understood with the Numerical Ladder. Given the slightest mistake with a calculator is sufficient towards finding the wrong answer, without the understanding of finding out where you went wrong. A student must have the ability of calculating the correct answers without fail. Character Math methods provide this ability of cross checking their problems through understanding the Numerical Ladder, so that students can have an easier time learning advanced mathematical procedures. Metaphorically, we’re turning students into Calculators using a tool that they can trust, a tool that they can clearly see & understand.
